In this evening lecture, Will Arnold will reflect on three years of industry change that he has helped to spearhead, embedding sustainability and embodied carbon at the heart of the structural engineer’s responsibility. The talk will explore the institution’s carbon-reducing guidance and tools, updated membership standards, and cross-industry initiatives on whole-life carbon. This will include an insight into the campaign Will has been leading to legislate embodied carbon in buildings that has attracted support from over 200 construction firms.
