Ethics and Culture: You Can’t Ride a Bicycle without Wheels - Interactive Discussion
The relationship we each have with the Code of Ethics we’re bound to as Engineers is different and unique. This interactive session will discuss the critical intersection between ethics and the cultures we are part of - at work, at school, through volunteer activity, and other professional environments. Closely examining the ASCE’s new Code of Ethics, and through use of case studies such as the Citicorp Building, the interactive group discussion will provide the why behind the new Code of Ethics along with the when and how ethics are put into action in our practice of engineering. The Code of Ethics will all be overlayed through a prism discussing how culture can impact ethics. We invite and encourage all to join us - from younger members to seasoned veterans - group engagement will be a part of this thought-provoking session on ethics you won’t want to miss.
